Dermal Fillers

At New Genesis, we offer a variety of cosmetic dermal fillers that smooth the appearance of wrinkles, soften facial folds, restore fullness and reverse the signs of aging. Over time, skin loses collagen and is unable to repair itself resulting in the appearance of lines and folds. As we mature we lose fullness or volume and our skin sags. With dermal fillers our goal is to minimize the appearance of aging by filling lines and restoring volume. Dermal fillers are a safe and effective way to turn back the hands of time and can be used repeatedly or just for that special event. During a consultation, our medical staff will discuss what you would like to change and help you choose which filler is best suited to help you achieve your goals.

Dermal fillers are injected below the skin using a fine needle. They can be uncomfortable for some people not only due to the needle sticks but the fillers can sting while being injected. At New Genesis we take every step possible to assure the comfort of our patients. This takes extra time for the patient and us, but our clients appreciate it. These comfort measures can include using numbing creams, mechanical chillers or nerve blocks and/or nitrous oxide just as many dentists do when giving injections to a sensitive area.

Prior to being treated, you should take some precautions. Avoid using aspirin, anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s Wort, or Vitamin E supplements as they may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Be sure to let our medical staff know prior to your appointment if you have experienced cold sores in the past so we can help prevent any recurrence. Whenever facial injections are done, some clients may experience minor swelling, tenderness or bruising. If you are required to take aspirin for a medical reason, talk to your doctor before stopping it. Some people believe that Arnica Pills are helpful in minimizing bruising.
